Mountain Paradise: Jade Mountain, St. Lucia

Share your love

From the moment you step off your plane in St. Lucia, you will know you’ve arrived somewhere special. From the people and places, to the food and music, nothing on this small island will disappoint. Although the island is filled with countless choices for beautiful and unique resorts to stay, those lucky enough to be staying at the exquisite Jade Mountain Resort are truly in for an unforgettable experience.

When you arrive to St. Lucia by air, you will likely fly into either Hewannora International Airport or George F.L. Charles Airport. From each airport there are two methods of transportation that will take you to Jade Mountain. For approximately $100 each way, the hotel will arrange taxi transportation from the airport. This includes either a sedan or luxury vehicle option and takes approximately 60-75 minutes driving time depending on which airport you arrive. For guests not looking to waste time, Jade Mountain also offers a 6-8 minute helicopter transfer to the hotel. This provides a breath-taking view of the island and a memorable experience you won’t soon forget. (Note: Helicopter bookings require 4 passengers and costs $265-$285 per person. Check with hotel for full details.)

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the exceptional service of Jade Mountain’s staff. Guests are set up with their own personal team who are available 24 hours. This team is there to assist you with all your needs from booking activities, arranging meal times, providing additional room service, and so much more. Each guest is given a cell phone that allows you to connect directly to staff whenever you need. The staff will make your experience truly amazing and will ensure that your stay is flawless.

If you are a guest at Jade Mountain, you will likely agree that you booked your stay at Jade Mountain for the opportunity to stay in one of the 28-uniquely designed sanctuaries. Architect Nick Troubetzkoy and wife Karoline, carved the resort into the highest point of their 600-acre Anse Chastanet property, ensuring that each sanctuary has an unparalleled view of the Pitons and Caribbean ocean.

Jade Mountain

Each suite was designed with an open concept. There are no doors on the bathrooms and only 3 walls surrounding your room, completely opening up your sanctuary to the outdoors and beautiful views. (Note: If you have a fear of birds, be prepared for frequent visitors flying in and out.) Each sanctuary is uniquely designed around your own private infinity pool, hot tub, canopy bed, and living/dining area. Be advised when booking, some of the lower level “Sky” sanctuaries do not have private infinity pools, so book early as they are worth every penny!

When it comes time to dine, you have a few options while staying at Jade Mountain. The Jade Mountain Club located on the top level of the resort caters exclusively to their guests, offering award winning food, as well as a beautiful Celestial Terrace for sunset cocktails, private dinners or stargazing. Guests are also welcome to eat at any of the other restaurants located on the sister resort Anse Chastanet, which includes a beach restaurant and grill for more casual dining. We highly recommend booking the all-inclusive plan for $360/daily per couple. The plan will allow you to enjoy the resort freely without worrying about the cost of each meal, as it adds up quickly and is definitely worth the investment.

Finally, while at Jade Mountain, be sure to take advantage of all the activities offered. You can snorkel, paddleboard, kayak, and sail all along the private cove, or take the water taxi to town and explore some local culture. If you simply want to relax, enjoy one of the many spa services or have a private massage in your own sanctuary. Evenings offer a wide variety of additional activities including music, cooking classes and wine tasting.

Whether you’re celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary or just looking to escape your everyday life, Jade Mountain is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We truly believe that you will not be disappointed with your stay and you will be left with memories that will last a lifetime.

Things to consider:

Jade Mountain is located on a mountainside, built around steep staircases and bridges. Unfortunately for guests with physical disabilities, Jade Mountain may be inaccessible. There is a shuttle provided to transfer guests up and down the mountain to the beach, however getting to the sanctuaries and main restaurant requires walking up steep staircases. Guests should consider their level of physical activity when booking.

– Jade Mountain sanctuaries are deliberately tech-free, meaning no phones, no computers, no TV and no radio. If you cannot leave the outside world behind, there is Wi-Fi access available at reception and in other parts of the resort.

– Kids under 15 are not allowed at Jade Mountain. Guests with younger kids can still enjoy a wonderful experience at one of the rooms within the Anse Chastanet properties. Children may dine at the Jade Mountain restaurant if accompanied by an adult.

– This tropical oasis doesn’t come cheap, with nightly rates ranging from $950 up to $2,700 US. (Food, alcohol and spa treatments are additional.) But don’t worry; Jade Mountain is worth every penny, so start saving now!
